What is Micro-needling?
Micro-needling is an excellent treatment option for revitalising the skin and improving a host of conditions and concerns. How does micro-needling work?
As skin ages, the natural production of collagen declines. Micro-needling is the use of micro needles to penetrate through the skin to induce the body’s natural wound healing process. This results in thousands of micro channels in the skin which stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. By promoting cellular turnover and collagen synthesis, Micro-needling rejuvenates the skin from within, resulting in smoother, firmer and more toned skin.
Micro-needling can safely treat all skin types to address a variety of concerns. Most areas on the body can be treated unless deemed unsuitable by your practitioner.
This treatment is designed to ensure maximum comfort. Firstly, I will apply a topical anesthetic to ‘numb’ the area, then I will gently cleanse the area, followed by a painless peel to remove the dead skin cells from the surface layer. The next step is adding the serum of your choice prior to using my precision micro-needling device to create the micro channels and start the rejuvenation process.
What to expect after treatment?
You may experience some transient erythema (redness) on the treated area for a couple of hours post treatment. However, the redness should resolve and dissipate within a few hours.
